Vaping is healthier than smoking

Posted on June 25, 2022June 25, 2022 by averagejoeblogs

Based on all of the available evidence, vaping is overwhelmingly more healthy than smoking….but hey, jumping in front of a bus is probably more healthy than smoking too – that’s how bad cigarettes are!

To start with, vaping is smokeless and the liquids contain fewer hazardous compounds than cigarette smoke, and although not completely safe, vaping is definitely the lesser of two evils. The main advantage of vaping over smoking cigarettes is that it can deliver nicotine by heating a liquid in a much less harmful way.

As an ex-smoker myself, I personally wouldn’t encourage the inhalation of anything other than oxygen into the lungs, but if vaping can be your gateway to ultimate tobacco cessation then I’m all for it!

Vaping liquids do not burn tobacco and produce neither tar nor carbon monoxide, which are the two of the most detrimental aspects associated with smoking and cigarette smoke.

Anothers advantage of vaping is that the dangers of second hand smoke are neutralized, furthermore vaping doesn’t carry the lingering odour of cigarette smoke that follows the smoker wherever they go. But more importantly the beneficial health outcomes related to vaping as opposed to smoking can’t and won’t be denied, well not here anyway!

By cutting out the tar associated with cigarette smoking you are eliminating most of the adverse health effects associated with the nicotine addiction.

Hey, if you’re either not willing or able, or are simply just not ready to kick the nicotine habit right now, far from it being for me to judge, I’ll just guide you to the safest route. Ideally you would transition to vaping as a means to quit smoking cigarettes in the end, finally kicking the nicotine addiction to the kerb for good. But in the meantime and while you’re still an addict trying to wean yourself off – what else can be said for vaping over smoking?

Well for one thing you can avoid being a participant in the big tobacco industry – responsible for mass deforestation and exploiting workers particularly in poorer nations. Then consider the negative health impacts on yourself and the the hundreds of millions of other addicted smokers throughout the world. It’s not something any of us should aspire to take part in. The negative health effects of smoking alone should be enough to make you want to quit, would you recommend your children, relatives and friends take up smoking?Depends on how much you hate them I guess!

So if vaping can be the gateway to quitting smoking cigarettes then I would suggest you seriously consider it as a legitimate alternative to lighting up and combusting tobacco.

Anecdotally smokers who have transitioned to vaping report an almost immediate reduction in smoking related symptoms such as coughing and COPD, Either improving or resolving completely. Of course, vaping nicotine means you still have a drug addiction, and nicotine still plays havoc with your blood circulation as well as your sympathetic nervous system and also you’re digestive system, issues that won’t become apparent until you completely quit.

Nausea, stomach upset, bloating and excessive gas are well known, yet not much spoken about side effects associated with nicotine withdrawal. Bleeding gums are also a common side effect as blood circulation returns upon nicotine cessation. So far from encouraging you to vape and prolong the addiction it would be best used as a transitioning tool to wean you off cigarettes.

Tobacco smoke is full of tar that will fill up your lungs and gums, where it will cause damage sight unseen, so vaping is a winner here for me again….no smoke means no tar, so take to the vape any day over tobacco. In reality I’d prefer you do neither but if it’s one or the other, vaping wins hands down from a health perspective. If you’re not ready to quit nicotine right now consider vaping over smoking as the start of your journey to find a way out.
